If you want to sync your Instagram feed to The Grid but are having problems logging in to Instagram, here are some things that might help.

Suspicious or Unusual Login Attempt

The issue: you see a banner that says “Suspicious Login Attempt” or a page that says “We Detected An Unusual Login Attempt”.

Solution 1

Changing how you connect to the Internet may help.

  • If you are connected to Wi-Fi, turn off your phone’s Wi-Fi and connect using your cell data. Then try logging in again. After you login, you can turn your Wi-Fi back on.
  • If you are connected to your cell data, turn on your phone’s Wi-Fi and connect to a Wi-Fi hotspot. Then try logging in again.

Solution 2

  1. Instagram will send you a code to verify your identity. Submit that code but do not login.
  2. Open your Instagram app. They should ask you if it really was you that was trying to log in. Confirm that it was you. (It’s okay if they don’t ask you for this confirmation.)
  3. Wait 1 day.
  4. Log in again in The Grid.

If you still cannot login

Sometimes all you can do is wait. The Instagram team is making changes all of the time and occasionally one of their changes can break the login system for a few hours or days. Most of the time, these login issues clear up on their own.

If you have given it some time to clear up on it’s own and you are still experiencing a login issue, email me and I’ll see what I can do to help.
